How Our Level System Works

Every student starts by building a strong foundation. As students progress, training becomes more challenging and includes more advanced self-defense scenarios, pressure drills, ground survival, multiple-attacker scenarios, and weapons-related threats.

Progression is based on readiness, not just time in class. Students are expected to show safe training habits, technical improvement, control, consistency, and the ability to apply skills under stress.

Level 1: Beginner Krav Maga

Level 1 is where new students begin. This level focuses on the basics of striking, movement, awareness, and common self-defense situations.

  • Fighting stance and movement
  • Punches, palm strikes, elbows, knees, and basic kicks
  • Defenses against common grabs and attacks
  • Basic ground survival and getting back to your feet
  • Fitness, confidence, and safe partner training

No previous martial arts experience is needed. Many of our students start as complete beginners.

Level 2: Stronger Fundamentals

Level 2 builds on the basics and introduces more challenging self-defense problems. Students continue improving striking, conditioning, footwork, and defensive reactions.

  • More advanced striking combinations
  • Defenses against chokes, headlocks, and bearhugs
  • Improved movement under pressure
  • More intense partner drills and conditioning

Level 3: Intermediate Training

Level 3 introduces more pressure, more complex attacks, and more realistic training situations. Students are expected to train with greater intensity while maintaining control and safety.

  • Intermediate self-defense problems
  • Ground survival and fighting back to your feet
  • Multiple-attacker awareness
  • Stress drills and scenario-based training

Level 4: Advanced Self-Defense

Level 4 moves students into more advanced defensive concepts, including higher-pressure scenarios and weapons-awareness training.

  • Advanced combatives
  • Multiple-attacker movement
  • Blunt weapon and edged weapon concepts
  • Firearm and long-gun defense concepts in a controlled training environment

Advanced students may also progress into specialized topics such as weapons defense training.

Level 5: Advanced Integration

Level 5 is advanced training. Students work on combining striking, movement, defenses, ground survival, weapons awareness, and decision-making under pressure.

  • High-pressure drills
  • Advanced self-defense combinations
  • Multiple-attacker problem solving
  • Refining technique under fatigue and stress
