Justin Moore
Justin Moore is the owner and Lead Instructor of Spartan Krav Maga, a Krav Maga Black Belt, and brings more than 25 years of law enforcement, defensive tactics, security, and instructional experience to practical self-defense training.

Justin Moore is the owner and Lead Instructor of Spartan Krav Maga and a Krav Maga Black Belt. He has more than 25 years of experience in law enforcement, security, defensive tactics, and professional instruction. He currently serves as an active law enforcement Captain and has taught law enforcement tactics for more than 25 years. He previously served as the Training Lieutenant for one of Michigan's largest municipal law enforcement agencies and continues to teach both civilian and law enforcement students.
Justin's background in martial arts and defensive tactics began at a young age through wrestling, Wing Chun, and boxing. As his law enforcement career progressed, he trained extensively in defensive tactics and officer safety programs before becoming involved in Krav Maga. Over the years, he has trained with multiple Krav Maga organizations and instructors, continually expanding his knowledge of practical self-defense and real-world violence. He went on to earn his Black Belt in Krav Maga, and Spartan Krav Maga is affiliated with CT707.
Throughout his career, Justin has served in a variety of law enforcement assignments, including patrol officer, supervisor, tactical officer, honor guard member, field training officer, background investigator, and subject control instructor. These experiences provide him with a broad perspective on personal safety, human behavior, decision-making under stress, and the realities of violent encounters.
Justin has earned instructor certifications in firearms, TASER, de-escalation, OC spray, subject control, active violence response, and scenario-based training. He is also a Force Science Advanced Specialist, with advanced education focused on human performance and the legal issues surrounding force. His professional background includes training and credentials related to security analysis, threat assessment, commercial and residential facility security, and IT infrastructure.
For more than 20 years, Justin has taught at police and corrections academies and training facilities throughout Michigan. He has trained civilians, businesses, schools, community organizations, security professionals, and public safety personnel, developing and delivering programs in personal safety, workplace violence prevention, active violence preparedness and response, de-escalation, defensive tactics, violent patient management, security procedures, and scenario-based training.
Justin holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Public Administration. His extensive instructional experience allows him to combine proven self-defense concepts with realistic, scenario-based training methods designed to help students understand not only how to perform a technique, but when and why it may be appropriate.
Over the years, Justin and Spartan Krav Maga have received multiple recognitions and awards, including Krav Maga School of the Year and Instructor of the Year honors. His goal at Spartan Krav Maga is to provide practical, professional training that helps students develop confidence, awareness, fitness, sound decision-making, and effective skills for real-world self-protection.

Mark Stefaniak serves as the Lead Instructor for Northern Michigan with Spartan Krav Maga and SKM Group, bringing more than 15 years of experience in Krav Maga, self-defense, and defensive tactics training.

Mark holds a Black Belt under CT-707 Krav Maga and has spent years training, teaching, and refining realistic self-defense methods designed for real-world application. His approach focuses on practical techniques, sound decision-making under stress, situational awareness, and developing the mindset necessary to respond effectively to threats and violence.
In addition to his Krav Maga background, Mark is a certified Gracie Survival Tactics instructor and has earned instructor certifications in firearms, TASER, OC spray, subject control, active violence response, and scenario-based training. His extensive instructional experience enables him to blend proven self-defense principles with realistic training methods that are effective for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.
Over the years, Mark has trained civilians, businesses, schools, community organizations, security professionals, and public safety personnel. Lonnie currently serves as a reserve police officer in Michigan, bringing law enforcement experience and practical application into his instruction. His approach combines defensive tactics, fitness, tactical preparedness, and a calm, professional coaching style that helps students build confidence and resilience.
Lonnie has also studied extensively with Justin Moore and continues to develop his skills through ongoing training. He was recognized in 2026 for the 2025 training year as Krav Maga Instructor of the Year through FITA/FIMA.

Caelie is certified under Nir Maman through CT707 and earned that certification in 2019. In 2023, she received additional certification under Ron Engelman through Krav Maga Israel, continuing to expand her knowledge and refine her approach to instruction.
In addition to her martial arts background, Caelie serves as a reserve police officer in Michigan and continues ongoing education in Urban Tactics, TECC, Stop the Bleed, Effective Fitness Combatives, Kali, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Jeet Kune Do, and firearms training.
Caelie believes effective instruction goes beyond technique alone. Her coaching philosophy centers on mindset, discipline, physical preparedness, and creating an environment where students of all experience levels can train safely, work hard, and grow.
Caelie was recognized at the annual FITA/FIMA conference as the 2025 Female Krav Maga Instructor of the Year, in recognition of her commitment to training, teaching, and representing Spartan Krav Maga at a high level.
Andrew Luce
Andrew Luce brings a strong background in education and Krav Maga instruction, applying effective teaching methods to help students build lasting, repeatable skills rooted in the practical principles of Krav Maga.

Andrew Luce has a background in education from a wide variety of classrooms, applying effective methodologies to form lasting, repeatable techniques that fit the highly effective principles of Krav Maga.
Andrew started training at Spartan Krav Maga in January 2017. Through commitment, consistency, and continued development, he earned a CT707 Krav Maga Teaching Certification in August 2019.
His background in education includes a K-12 teaching certification from WMU, 9 years teaching preschoolers, and two years teaching English as a Second Language in Japan. This experience gives Andrew a strong ability to teach students clearly, adapt instruction, and build curriculum that helps students retain what they learn.
Since starting as a self-defense instructor at Spartan Krav Maga, Andrew has continued to study real-world violence, physical fitness, and practical training resources in order to provide the best instruction possible as he continues to grow as a coach and martial artist.
A husband and father, Andrew has developed and led a Krav Maga class for children since March 2022. His work with youth students focuses on discipline, confidence, awareness, movement, and age-appropriate self-defense skills in a safe and structured environment.
